Requirements:
- This role requires full-time office presence in Cape Town.
- 4–5 years of relevant experience in embedded software development
- Proficiency in C and/or C++ for embedded or resource-constrained environments
- Experience with RTOS platforms such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or VxWorks
- Familiarity with microcontroller architectures (e.g. ARM Cortex-M, AVR, or STM32)
- Experience with communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, or CAN
- Experience using debugging tools such as JTAG, oscilloscopes, or logic analysers
- Experience working in an English speaking environment
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with Linux-based embedded systems (e.g. Yocto, Buildroot)
- Experience with hardware design or PCB review collaboration
- Knowledge of assembly language for ARM or x86 architectures
- Experience with automated testing frameworks for embedded systems
- Exposure to connectivity protocols such as Bluetooth, Zigbee, or LoRa
