Job Description
Turner and Townsend Netherlands are looking for an experienced, site-based Senior Construction Manager to work on a major Data Center project. This position plans and conducts activities concerned with the quality assurance and quality control of multiple construction contractors, overseeing work put in place to ensure industrial processes, materials and products by performing the following duties:

  1. Develop and manage a suite of governance, communication and management control systems for the proper conduct and assured delivery of the client’s essential services and works.
  2. Review the organisation structures of the parties and recommend alignment measures.
  3. Interface management between contractors.
  4. Monitor overall team performance and initiate any required safety or performance improvement measures and methodologies.
  5. Monitor and audit compliance with the requirements of the management systems and report as required.
  6. Active engagement in the Project Risk Management process to continually identify project risks, actively assign and drive mitigation management activities.
  7. Initiate and conduct weekly technical and progress meetings relating to the services and works.
  8. Manage any client stage gateway reviews and attainment of conditions precedent to such approvals.
  9. Manage the attainment of design stage deliverables to schedule and quality that may be concurrent with any fast track works package procurements and associated permitting and approvals requirements.
  10. Conduct and lead site progress reviews on a daily basis to review HSE, logistics and progress against the programme.
  11. Produce formal reports on project progress measured against the baseline and milestone dates and agreed project-wide KPI’s.
  12. Prepare weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports on project progress for the Employer’s representative, prepare and conduct presentations as required.
  13. Manage and administer the relevant contracts affording appropriate protection of the client’s interests.
  14. Manage the timely issuance of company invoices and receipts against the agreed contract.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum 8 years of experience in construction.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree or related construction experience.
  3. Excellent written, verbal and analytic skills.
  4. Self-directed and able to function with ease as part of a team and to effectively collaborate with internal and external resources.
  5. Line Management experience.
  6. Strong commercial awareness, including Financial management familiarity for project tracking and forecasting.
  7. Understanding of contract documents, specifications, project plans, and all other project-related documents.
  8. Highly motivated self-starter.
  9. Ability to multi-task and identify priority activities.
  10. Computer skills, including Microsoft 365 or Google Suite, BIM360, MS Project, Bluebeam/Adobe, OneNote, construction project management software.
  11. Basic knowledge of construction estimation.
  12. Basic knowledge of the financial components that create payment applications, change orders, and other construction financial documents.
  13. Possess the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and identify priority activities.
