Requirements:
- This role follows a hybrid working model, requiring 2–3 days per week in the Cape Town office. xtzxhlp
- 10+ years of relevant experience in embedded systems development
- Expert-level proficiency in C and C++ for embedded and safety-critical environments
- Proven experience leading firmware architecture and embedded system design
- Deep knowledge of real-time constraints, power management, and low-level hardware interactions
- Experience with functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 or IEC 61508 is advantageous
- Experience across the full embedded development lifecycle from requirements to hardware validation
- Experience working in an English speaking environment
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with Linux-based embedded systems (e.g. Yocto, Buildroot)
- Experience with hardware design or PCB review collaboration
- Knowledge of assembly language for ARM or x86 architectures
- Experience with automated testing frameworks for embedded systems
- Exposure to connectivity protocols such as Bluetooth, Zigbee, or LoRa
