Requirements: This role follows a hybrid working model, requiring 2–3 days per week in the Cape Town office. 10+ years of relevant experience Deep expertise with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure Extensive experience designing and maintaining large-scale, highly available systems Strong leadership in defining SLOs, SLAs, and error budget policies Expert-level command of container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes Experience driving reliability culture and blameless post-mortem practices Experience working in an English speaking environment Nice to have: Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git Ops workflows Familiarity with chaos engineering principles and tooling Experience with service mesh technologies (e.G. Istio, Linkerd) Prior background in software development or systems programming Knowledge of a backend language such as Go, Python, or Java
